Heading to the Beach

We are getting ready tonight to leave for our long-awaited vacation. The family is heading to Fripp Island tomorrow morning for a week at the beach. Fripp Island is a small resort island off the coast of Beaufort, South Carolina. We have rented a house for the week, and while we will have a few days to ourselves, we will be visited by family while we are there. Nana and Papa T will be meeting us there and staying a few days at the beginning of the week. At the end of the week, Ganny & Grandaddy, Aunt Amy, and cousins Lindsey, Kaila, and Baby Connor will be joining us. We are so looking forward to the time away from home and to the time we will spend with our families. Hopefully we will have more great pictures and updates when we return!

Have a great week!

July 4th Weekend

For the 4th of July, Jason, Jackson, Harris and I travelled to Atlanta to visit my mom (Nana). We had such a great time... when we weren't relaxing in the pool, we were eating! Mom is such a great cook, and she made all of our favorites over the weekend. My dad came down from Toledo and brought my nephew, Dean. It was great to have both of my parents there... it is so nice that they get along so well and have remained friends.

The boys put on a great fireworks show on the 4th... I really think that they enjoyed the thrill of setting them off more than watching the fireworks themselves!!

Thank you , Nana & Papa T, for hosting such a great weekend!

Floating

Harris enjoyed floating in the pool!

Dean

This is my nephew, Dean. He is one of the funniest little boys I know... I think he gets that from his father, my brother Mike. I don't think I ever saw him without a smile on his face. Dean LOVED the pool... it was hard to get him out at the end of the day. He got so excited about the fireworks, and I think he was pretty disappointed when we ran out. I am so glad that he was able to come with Papa... I only wish that Mike had been able to make it. Maybe next time...

Chillin'

Jackson and Jason both had a great time in the pool all weekend. Jackson did so well...he loved the water and just kind of hung out in the pool with his swimmies. We did get him to go off the diving board a few times, but not without a lot of prodding. Next summer he will be a pro!

Papa T

This is my mom's husband, Terry, or Papa T. All of the boys loved spending time with him in the pool... even though he was a mean shot with the squirt gun!

Papa

This is my dad, relaxing in the pool. I am so glad that he was able to come down and bring Dean. We don't get to see him often, so we really enjoyed our time with him. Jackson and Harris really loved the Toledo Mudhens hats and shirts that Papa brought!

Daddy

Jason fussed at me last night, because there was no mention of him in this blog. So, here it is! This picture was taken a couple of months ago, but it is a great picture of Jason and Harris. Jason is an awesome daddy... both boys love him to death. He keeps asking me, though, when he can start taking them hunting and fishing....

Do I have to answer that question??

Gail

Jackson, Harris and I went to the Children's Museum with our good friend Gail. Gail was a regular customer of mine, and when Jackson was born, she fell in love with him! She would come by every day we were at the shop just to play or to take him for a stroll... he absolutely adored her. Since Harris was born and we aren't at the shop very often, we don't get to see her much anymore, so days like today are special.

Jackson and Gail had a blast today... running through the museum, playing in the water, and coloring. It was so nice just to sit back and relax a little bit with Harris. Not to mention, Gail wore Jackson out so he took a great nap!! Thanks for a great day, Gail!!

He Did It!

He did it! He rolled from his back to his belly! He was too funny... he looked a little bit startled, and then he rolled right back onto his back again. It won't be long until he is rolling across the room!

Harris News

Harris is now four months old... I can't believe he is growing so quickly!
At his 4-month check-up, he weighed 12 lbs 9 oz... that puts him in the 24% for weight. I think he is going to be a little one, just like his big brother. He can roll from his tummy to his back, and he is trying to get from his back to his belly. Unfortunately, Jackson will roll him back onto his back every time he is almost onto his belly! Harris talks so much... it is unbelievable compared to Jackson!! He woke me up at 3:00am yesterday just chatting away to his mobile! I absolutely love hearing him talk and squeal... we didn't get it much with Jackson. Harris loves being talked to, and he is starting to reach for his toys. It really just amazes me how quickly he is growing up!

Camp

Jackson has been at "camp" all summer! In June, he went to Mother's Morning Out at the St. Philip's School (at our church), and this month, he is at Second Presbyterian's Summer Camp. He has been playing with his old friends, making new friends, doing arts and crafts, playing outside, listening to stories, singing songs... I wish I could go, too! He has been going two to three mornings a week, and while I miss my time with him, it has been giving me a great chance to have some alone time with Harris (along with a little break!). In August, he will go to camp at the Little School (where he goes during the school year) for a week before heading back to school. He has done really well at camp, and I think he really enjoys it. This morning, he grabbed a handful of crayons to take with him... I think he was taking his school supplies with him, just in case he didn't have enough!

Figuring It Out

Ok, so I am taking my time in figuring this whole blog thing out, but I will get there. I was having a hard time figuring out how to post a picture, but I think I've got it now. I have lots of pictures to show, but time is a bit crunched with two little ones trying to bang on the computer.

Here I am with the boys... hopefully we can get a better picture of us soon!
