You don't raise heroes; you raise sons. And if you treat them like sons, they'll turn out to be heroes, even if it's just in your own eyes. ~ Walter Schirra Sr.

Camping On Capers Island
We spend this past weekend camping on Capers Island with the Blacks, old friends of ours who also have two boys, Bennett (9) and Matthew (6). What a great time!
We got there mid-afternoon, set up our tents, and started to play. There was swimming, fishing, and lots of exploring. The boys found sand dollars, crabs, and tons of conch shells... it was really paradise for them!

These old trees were the perfect playground for four adventurous boys.

It was the perfect weekend... the weather was perfect, the boys were great, and the time with old friends was just what we needed. Harris actually cried on Sunday night because Bennett and Matthew had to go home. There were lots of promises that we would do it again soon, and after such an awesome time, I know we will follow through!
