Adjusting to school has gone fairly smoothly. The one thing we are struggling with is after-school entertainment. It is still too hot to ride bikes or rollerblade for long, and they are tired of the same old stuff inside. After a while, we all get sour, and the evening heads south. Yesterday, Jackson came up with the idea of making a water park in our back yard. (Originally, he had wanted to pull up the sandbox and create a beach, but I had to nix that idea...)
Our neighbors put in a pool next door, and it has been killing the boys all summer long not to have our own pool. This was their solution!
A hose going down the slide and a pool full of water... fun for everyone... including Lucy.
To top it all off, Jackson created a "diving board" out of the handle of our wagon... springy enough for a good jump.
Super fun afternoon... hope it can hold their attention for a few more days until it starts to cool off again!
