Race for the Cure

On October 21 (yes, I am still trying to catch up!!), Aileen and I headed to Daniel Island to run in the Race for the Cure. There were 4100 participants, and at least 400 of those were breast cancer survivors... it was so great to see them out walking and running en masse.

It was a beautiful morning... perfect for a 5K run. Aileen did a fantastic job... she just started running this summer, and this race was her goal and first 5K. She was a superstar and even finished the race with a huge smile on her face... yahoo, Aileen!! Keep running... we have a Michelob Ultra tent to run to on Thanksgiving!

I did well (29:07), considering that two bouts of strep and a knee injury had kept me from running much for a few months. It felt great and was nice to be in a race again after so long (since the beginning of July!). Next race: The James Island Connector 10K on Saturday morning!
