Wheels

I have had this post in the wings for over a month now. The first time I was putting it together, I was trying to get it organized perfectly as a story. However, I hit something wrong, and the whole thing disappeared. I was just about to go back to the original saved copy when the Blogger decided to save the completely blank post. I was so irritated that I put it aside until now. It will be less than perfect as a story, as I am not going to put them into any sort of order. But, I can't miss out on this post.
At the end of January, both boys took a big step in Boy Life... Jackson learned to rollerblade, and Harris took the training wheels off of his bike.
Jackson had a rollerblading unit in PE at school, so we thought we would give him a little head start. Smarty pants that he is, he grabbed his scooter and started practicing that way. It wasn't long until he ditched the scooter and skated on his own.
As with all things in life, Blond One easily picked up the non-training wheel bike riding. It took a few minutes of Daddy helping out, but he got it faster than I thought he would.
It was a very exciting day in our household with many smiles and giggles. The freedom and new adventures that lie ahead for us are many, and I am looking forward to spring and afternoons exploring with our new talents!

He Says

"Mommy, please sing me a song before I go to sleep..."
I start to sing, finish one song and start another.
"Mommy, you are wasting my time. I need to go to sleep."
I guess he didn't like my singing.

Winter

It has been awhile since I have posted, but we are still here. It has been a busy winter, one that has not stopped to let us rest! I am going to try to post a recap of our holidays, but know that this post will not do justice... we have gone non-stop for the past several months! We had our annual BUGS cookie decorating party. It amazes me how much our group has grown... not just in size but in number! Sometime I will post a series of pictures of our group over the years...We added a new family member, a chocolate lab named Lucy. We had to say goodbye to Hanna at Thanksgiving (that is another post), so Lucy was a great joy to us over the holidays.
We enjoyed some great family time outside before the cold weather set in.
We saw the lights and visited with Santa.
We had a great Christmas celebration with Granny, Grandaddy, Aunt Amy, Uncle Scott, Lindsey, Kaila, and Connor.
Jackson was a king, and Harris was a lamb in the church Christmas pageant.
Christmas morning was full of excitement!
The Razor Spark scooters were a highlight... they were out trying them in the driveway at 8:00am on Christmas morning!
Mike, Nicole, Dean, and Papa all came for a Christmas visit, and we did lots of touristy Charleston things, including eating at Hyman's, visiting the aquarium, and checking out the trains in the Charleston Place Hotel.
New Year's morning, I headed to Garden City with friends for a Girls' Weekend... it was a perfect end to a Christmas Break that had us running wild. It was so nice just to sit, relax, and spend some QT with amazing friends.
Of course, we watched Little Lucy grow and grow and grow...
This past weekend, Jason and Jackson went to Camp Ho Non Wah for a Boy Scout camp out. It was a cold weekend, and very few boys from Jackson's pack were there, but he had a blast. He met two new friends from his school, and one of them lives in our neighborhood. I think he is looking forward to many more camp outs in his future!
Really, this post doesn't scratch the surface. But, it at least gives a glimpse of what we are up to. I am always hopeful that I will be a better blogger... I can't promise, but I will try...
