You don't raise heroes; you raise sons. And if you treat them like sons, they'll turn out to be heroes, even if it's just in your own eyes. ~ Walter Schirra Sr.

Girls' Night
The girls of our cell group got together last week for one last Girls' Night Out before Clary headed to Phoenix. Beth's inlaws were gracious enough to allow us to invade their beautiful home in Rockville for the night. We cooked, chatted, ate, chatted, laughed, chatted, slept, chatted, ate again, chatted... what a great time. It was incedibly relaxing and so much fun to get to know these girls even more than we have over the past four years. I am looking forward to many more nights away with them!! Unfortunately, we couldn't get the whole group in the pictures... we are missing Lori (who got there late from work) and Emily (who couldn't make it). Thank you, Beth, for having us all out to Rockville... it was a much needed time away to recharge!
Evening at Folly
Last week, we headed to the beach after Jason got home from work to meet Mark, Clary, and Ashley for a quick beach walk and dinner at Taco Boy.
The boys were a trip... Ashley and Harris are the best of friends. They both search each other out in social settings, they dance and scream when they find each other, and they generally have the best time together. Above, they are both immitating Jackson's cool rolling routine.
Unfortunately, the Auler family has just moved to Phoenix this past weekend so Mark can do a fellowhip there. They have become some of our closest friends over the past four years, and we are extremely sad to see them go. We will always cherish their friendship and know that they will always be there for us. We are so looking forward to a trip to Phoenix to visit and to hopefully meet Baby Auler!!

Rolling
This is Jackson's favorite trick at the beach now. He rolls and rolls and rolls until he is completely covered in sand, head to toe. Afterwards, he runs to the ocean and jumps in to clean it all off. Just to do it again. And again. And again.

Look!
Pictures! I haven't gotten a new computer yet, but I have figured out how to get them on this one. It is a slooooooow process, but at least I can get a few up. Looking through the pictures from the past month, I have a ton to blog about. Be patient... I am working on it!!
And yes, I have backed them up already!!

Harris...
... goes non-stop. His little feet and mouth go all day.
... calls himself "Hees".
... loves to swim! He scares me, as he seems to have no fear of the water.
... is actually ON the growth chart now!! He weighs 24 lbs and is in the 7th percentile!
... is a big time Mama's boy. He loves his Daddy, but he is all about getting hugs and kisses from his Mama.
... loves a shower! He loves standing under the water and dancing around as the water falls on him.
...suprises us every day with his new words... he will say just about anything and everything we ask him to.
... can jump higher than Jackson!
... talks about Papa every time we pass the marina or he sees a boat.
... has this incredibly contagious smile that makes my heart swell every day.

Jackson...
... is loving his trains again. He focused for awhile on everything Cars, and he will still go back to them occasionally, but he is playing with Thomas much more.
... knows all of the words to the song "Life is a Highway".
... looked at Papa T the other day and said, "You've GOT to be kidding me!" when Papa T told him he had to finish Papa T's lunch.
... loves being in the water. He has had the best time at the beach and at the pool.
... won't eat any candy unless it is chocolate (I trained him well!).
... loves his grandparents. He asks about them lots, and lately, he has been really interested in where they all live.
... hates cleaning his room.
... carries his plate to the kitchen every night after dinner.
... has a calendar with every playdate and event of the summer written on it (we are having playgroup three times a week this summer!). He loves to cross off the day every evening and to see what we have planned the next day. I think this summer has definitely started out to be one of his favorites!!
... has said some of the sweetest things to me lately. Yesterday he told me what a great jogger I was, and today he thanked me for loving him. Such a sweetie-pie!!
